Etoy Bean- Lipsey

Biography

Etoy Bean-Lipsey passed away June 30, 2011 at her home in Houston, Mississippi. She was born January 29, 1926, the daughter of Walter Bean Sr., and Lula Bell Hill Bean, in Houlka, Mississippi.

Ms Lipsey confessed her beilef in Christ at an early age. She was afaithful member of Wesley Chapel C.M.E. Church for over sixty years. She served as the president of the Missionary Society, stewardess, Sunday school treasurer and pianist. She was a member of Houston Court No. 123, Heroines of Jericho, Order of the Easter Star NAOMI chaper NO. 441 O.E.S. Houston Mississippi and a girl scout leader.

She attended elementary and high school in Houlka, Mississippi, before obtaining her associate degree from Okolona Jr. College in Okolona, Mississppi, Ms Lipsey then received a bachelor of sceince from Mississippi Industrial College in Holly Springs, Mississippi. Obtained her Master's degree from Mississippi State University in Starkville, Mississippi.

She began her teaching career with the Macon School System in Noxubee County, Macon, Mississippi and taught for twenty-seven years.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one daughter, Dubbie (Debra) Francis; six sisters: Jodie L. Mosley, Selma Allen, Luevietta Mosley, Luevada Mills, Leana Scott, Juanita Bean, three brothers: Jeff Bean, Walter Bean, Jr., Howard Bean, one grandson Anthony Lipsey.

She leaves to cherish her memory, one son: Joe Ira Lipsey, Sr. and his wife Betty, one sister: Bessie Louise White, eight grandchildren: Joe Ira Lipsey,
Jr.,Bernard Lipsey, Christopher Lipsey, Niccole Lipsey, Warren Dion Davis, Tamila Lipsey, Tiffany Haynes, 12 great grandchildren, three great-great grandchildren and a long time friend Ira Lee Lipsey and a host of nieces and nephews.
